Hi Ross,
Nice to hear from you :)

All of us at Octabox are thrilled with the our experience with crowdSPRING thus far, and though it is still not perfect (what is?) it is certainly one of those services that you can say "they got it right". Keep up the good work.

Thanks so much for writing about http://www.crowdspring.com. We're really thrilled to be following Threadless - and proving in a small way that Web 2.0 and real revenue are not like oil and water. And we're both Chicago companies! It's really powerful to be able to answer questions about how we make money by simply saying: people pay us!

And you are absolutely right that the collaboration between buyers and creatives on crowdSPRING offers unprecedented benefits to both. In the Octabox project - this collaboration has resulted in some really great concepts and even more importantly - improvements on those concepts.

Of course, collaboration needs to be supported and we've introduced many unique features in the crowdSPRING marketplace that truly set us apart from others: free customized legal contracts to protect intellectual property purchases on crowdSPRING, full project management tools with file transfer and crowd voting, robust communication and notification systems, and much much more.

We're young - launched in May 2008, but in the 100 days since we've launched, buyers from 30 countries have posted projects on crowdSPRING and over 5,000 creatives from 125+ countries choose to work on crowdSPRING. We're really humbled by the response but also really excited that so many people have a new opportunity to show their creativity and earn money at the same time.

And we absolutely agree - it's a win/win for all involved!

Thanks again.

Best,
